Anchorage is a coast town located at the Cook Inlet bay and with around 290.000 inhabitants it is the largest city in in the US northernmost state Alaska. Recommended for visiting is the Alaska Native Heritage Center and the surrounding breathtaking nature. The city is the gateway to nearby wilderness areas and mountains such as the Chugach, Kenai and Talkeetna Mountains. Of course, there is also beautiful urban art here, especially the local artist ZIGGY has created countless large murals as well as smaller works of art across the city. These are often designed to match the locality or with images from historical events of the region. ZIGGY’s mission is to beautify the city and especially Downtown with colorful art. HOPE WALL MURAL – Community Project
The 12 meters wide mural is located at the Halfling Building on the corner of 7th Avenue and E Street. It was created in August 2021 by the collaboration of hundreds of residents from the the design of lead artist STEVE GORDON.
